My Plex server is running on a Qnap NAS. My TV is a Sony OLED AF9 which supports Dolby Vision.
Viewing videos from my NAS using Plex Player installed on my Sony Smart TV (AF9), Dolby Vision is not available on the TV as a video mode.
I also have a Firestick connected to the TV and viewing videos from my NAS via the Firestick using Plex Player, Dolby Vision is available on the TV as a video mode.
The PQ is better with Dolby Vision (Dark Mode) via my Firestick and I am wondering why the TV treats video from Plex Player installed on my TV differently vs installed on the Firestick? I am assuming that a video playing without DV metadata is falling back to HDR if played from the Firestick.
