Windows 10 Plex Media Player and Dolby Vision: YES or NO?

So I’ve got finally my LG OLED GX 65" which is capable of playing Dolby Vision content.

Latest beta Plex Media Server is running on my Synology NAS and I’ve got an HTPC with a AMD Radeon RX 550 (Polaris architecture).

The computer is connected to a DENON AVR-X2200W.

Now if I run a DV demo (stored in my NAS) straight from the TV Plex app DV is detected and properly displayed.
If I run the demo from the HTPC there’s no DV detection and colors look therefore completely wrong.

It was my understanding that Plex Media Player can play DV content with the proper hardware?

Hello Plex people are you there…?

I’m curious about this as well. Though it seems there won’t be an answer.

The Windows client does not pass through HDR, HDR10+ or DV. The only Windows client that can do it is Kodi, so try Plex for Kodi + dsPlayer or MPC.

Thanks.

Meanwhile I am running Plex for Kodi on a Fire Stick 4K, but I definitely will test what you just suggested now on my HTPC!
