Sony TV 75 inch 720 will not play full screen

Check Playback Settings → Display Mode. You most likely want it set to Letterbox.

Although configured during playback, the setting is persistent. It remains in effect until changed.

How to Make the Movies & TV Shows Fit My TV Screen

This week, suddenly, our PLEX is playing all movies and TV shows (shared from our friends collection- who does use a remote server to download their downloads to PLEX) in a much smaller box with our larger TV screen.
