TV is connected with amp (that can only play DD/DTS) via HDMI ARC, and the TV (Sony AF8) can output DTS via ARC.
When playing videos 4k hevc hdr with DTS-HD audio, playback is not smooth and audio/video breaks constantly.
- Same file with Plex Media Player app on mac mini connected to the TV via HDMI plays fine. No HDR due to mac mini HDMI limitation, but audio/video is playing fine
- Same file with Kodi + Plex add on plays fine on the TV (no playback issues)
- Same file with Android TV player is breaking (direct playing but breaking)
The Android TV Plex player plays fine DTS 5.1 files in general, but there is a problem with all the DTS HD files i have tried… either it doesn’t properly downgrades 7.1 to 5.1 or there is an issue with the player itself.
Someone wrote that it’s an HDMI bandwidth issue where the player is trying to passthrough the DTS-HD…
I don’t know what is happening, but if the files play fine with 2 different ‘Plex’ players in the same setup… it’s clearly an issue with the Android Player.
Can someone provide any input?
Or how can we raise this to the support team?
