Since its inception I have been having issues with shows starting 10 seconds in and no matter how many times I rewind it will only go back as far as 10 seconds into the ep.
Speaking of rewind… this may not matter to some, but the new player has rendered the next and previous buttons on my remote useless.
With the old player fast forward was 30 seconds, rewind was 10 seconds, next would skip to the next ep and previous would skip to the previous ep.
Now with the new player forward and rewind remain the same, but next and previous now do the same thing but in increments of 1 second, increasing when held.
This seems pretty useless to me, since 99% of remotes that have these 4 buttons also have a menu navigation ring that has up, down, left, right, and left & right do the same function as forward and rewind.
So why not map the controls properly and make left and right do the 10 & 30 seconds, forward and rewind do 1 second, and give next and previous back their original function to skip the whole ep…
Also I have noticed the eps are not getting marked as played. I see them in my dock with full orange bars like they have played right to the end and when I click on them have indeed but I still see the button saying “Mark As Played”.
I literally just spent the last 5 minutes going thru watched Family Guy episodes cause none of them were marking as played.
Having the exact same issues here on my Sony Bravia.
Not being able to skip episodes with the remote I find very annoying. Not to mention having to manually mark all episodes as watched.
There is one other weird thing I noticed. When you stop the app (or shut down the tv) on the next epidode screen. (Seems like normal behaviour) The next time you open the app the episode that is being at the top of the list in the Recently played episodes is not actually the last played episode but the one you are supposed to watch next.
All in all, the new player has some things to be figured out…
I forgot this till it just happened to me now, but sometimes when I back out of shows to the main menu my ‘On Deck’ pretty much disappears except for a sliver of the show I was watching.

Some episodes wont even play and lots of them crash if the quality is low (which is sometimes unavoidable).
Been watching Who’s Line US and the quality is lower than I would like, but there are no better versions out there. Well fast forwarding or rewinding almost always results in a crash and most of these crashes make the episode start all over again instead of where it crashed.
As for episodes not starting at all… Been watching Supernatural, but gave it a break before christmas. Went back to it the other day and try to play and episode and it gets all the way top playing the ep but just sits there on a black screen instead of playing the ep. I can even open the menu and see pause,next,etc., but none of the functions work.
I have been having a similar issue, Sony Bravia, where the playback has a freeze frame of 10 seconds in, the sound plays from the beginning, and then it will catch up and play fine.
Not really anything horrible but it is strange and annoying.
Im having issues where if you pause a movie for a period of time, when unpausing there is no sound and payback speed is x2. The only way to fix it is to restart the whole tv. Just backing out if the app doesn’t work.
Also having this issue. Seems to be sony tv related as it doesnt happen on any other devices. Kid of annoying if the show starts immediately and doesnt have like a network logo at the beginning. Any fixes on the way?
