Sorry! Something went wrong

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2852-219a997e
Player Version#: 4.29.2
Windows10 Pro (latest updates)

I am a first time user of Plex software and cannot get streaming from my PC on my Philips Android TV (incl. Chromcast) to work. On the TV it says “Plex - Streaming Ready”. On PC I am asked “Do you want to stream on TV?”. I accept and the message “Sorry. Something went wrong” appears on the TV.

I tried AC3 playback instead of DTS, lowering streaming bitrates - to no avail. I then tried the offered movies from Plex desktop page and it worked. I finally could stream content from Plex to my TV. Now how do I get my own content to work?

EDIT: And if there is no solution for me streaming on an external device - how do I use Plex to “not stream” any of my movies on the PC itself (on which Plex is installed) but play it directly offline (and with an external player, like Potplayer, or VCL for they have more settings and skipping is instantly and doesn’t load like with the FlexPlayer - because of the fact that the movie is being stream I suppose).
I like the interface of Plex, so if I cannot stream, I want to at least enjoy the nice interface…

Have you tried using the Plex app on your TV directly instead of casting to it? Seems like an issue with casting from your server.

Thanks. I forgot to try the TV based Plex app - which had been the solution.
Now I just start the PlexServer on PC and the Plex app on my TV - nice.
