I don’t understand why one would buy a plex pass without testing the app to see if it’s really for you.
If you got it working and then would like the additional benefits you could always upgrade to one of the paid subscriptions or (like myself) get the lifetime option.
I too am leaving. I’ve been using Plex since XBMC and am a lifetime Plexpass subscriber. I haven’t been able to play files for weeks with zero support. On to find other options (kodi etc)
Saw this on the Plex main website and couldn’t stop laughing…
### Looking for Technical Support?*
We have documentation, answers to common questions, guides, friendly forums, and more. Support questions submitted through the contact form will go unanswered.
Apparently there are no answers to technical questions anywhere for Plex.
Except through the forums. I know this is not what many want BUT it is what Plex has and has always had and what they will have going forward.
Most questions placed on these forums with enough info and tagged with the correct tags get answered pretty quickly. Plex has made it very easy to even get and attach logs to help people here to give an actually pretty good level of support.
It requires that users actually ask in a correct and complete format and it sometimes requires persistence but the vast majority of support questions get good answers in a reasonable amount of time.
There are good reasons to consider alternatives to Plex but really the support model is not one.
So exactly how does one post a question in order to get an answer? I’ve posted multiple times and places in the forum trying to get an answer as to why the EPG data is not updating on a Shield TV Pro running PMS. I’ve put in screen shots, log files and as much other information as I can and get no response, especially from Plex with what I can only assume is a bug. How do I get someone to look at the problem and fix it? It isn’t just with Shield, but with Ubuntu as well.
Here is the link to my post:
Did I miss something needed to get an answer?
Also I’m not the only one experiencing this:
This is seems like a complete lack of support to me.
