Sound "Clicking" when Skip Intro dialogue appears

On Android 9.19 on FireTV when the Skip Intro dialogue appears the audio starts clicking until it’s selected or times out.

Plex has added two tones, one for when the Skip button pops up and one for when you press it. I’ll have to look for a disable option.

This isn’t a tone, it sounds like a bug zapper and it’s constant until you press the skip intro button or the button disappears because the intro passes.

Updated to server version 1.31.3 and now it fast repeats the chime, truly annoying.

This happens for me as well on my living room Android TV client as of a recent update. Pressing the button or pressing up/down to navigate off Skip Intro will stop the noise, but it’s incredibly annoying.

This seems to happen when the skip intro button appears. For me, it’s the standard navigation “click” sound on my Shield TV, but like holding down the button and it repeatedly “clicking”. Rebooting does not correct the issue.

Occurring here on FireTv cube gen3 as well but not on all videos(most of them do it though). It is the same as the button click sound on FireTv.

This has been my experience as well.
Probably unrelated, but auto play next stopped working on my Shield at the same time as the rapid skip intro started.

Having the same issue. I thought my Nvidia shield was crapping out at first. Very annoying.

Yes. It does it when the “skip intro” button appears at the start of an episode, and also when the “skip credits” button appears. It sounds like really fast navigation through the alphabet in the movie library. Really fast clicking. Definitely a glitch in the latest update on both my Shields.

I’ve just purchased plex pass a few days ago and after its parsed my library this happens on about 50% of watched media on my Android TV enabled Sony X950G 55

Using a NVIDIA Shield I have same issue but on a “stable” player, not using beta unless it self installs without asking.

This is happening to me on my Chromecast, too. Can we get some kind of update or acknowledgement? It’s very annoying.

Thanks for posting. I’ve been thinking it was something weird with my soundbar this whole time. Turns out it’s just plex being plex during the intro and credit skip pop ups.

I’ve been getting this too.

I’m using the latest Plex Media server (stable) and Nvidia Shield (2015)

I made a post about this before realizing this thread was here. For anybody not experiencing this that is curious what it looks like, here you go:

When I show my remote I am hitting the select button one time, that’s all.
