While I can get select special to play, I noticed that if you are watching episodes in your specials folder one after another there can be an episode that can still trigger playing the first episode in the regular series folder.
Changing the date still works as a solution. Ironically, if you set it to Jan 1st 1900 the date does not appear and it seems as if Plex is treating that as no date. As a video with “no date” it no longer had a conflict with any of the other videos in the folder.
This issue is now resolved for me on PMS Version 1.23.4.4712 running on my Ubuntu 18.04 server.
Since ElectraFish is saying it’s solved for him, I did some testing with PMS 1.23.4.4712 again. As far as I can see, it’s resolved for me too.
