I’m adding the Blackadder series to my media collection; the regular seasons are all working fine, metadata is populating perfectly.
The specials, however, are being a pain in my backside. I have them all named correctly, I believe, following the format that’s worked for every other show I have:
[Drive]/TV/Blackadder/Season 00/Blackadder - S00E?? - Name.mkv
The agent finds the episodes, and names them correctly - however for most of the episodes, if I try to play, it just skips to S01E01.
Weirdly, hitting the “skip to next” button will show a couple of the S00 eps in between later seasons, but Plex will just flat-out not play some of them at all.
I’ve gotten the ep numbers from TheTVDB and have done the Plex Dance a couple of times now and this just keeps happening.
It seems to want to play in aired order - for example: I play Special 02 (S00E02), Blackadder’s Christmas Carol, which aired after the end of Season 03. The next episode that plays is S04E01.
And none of the interviews or other specials will play at all, just skip to S01E01.
I’ve been having this trouble for the past 2 weeks or so. ever since 1.22
Majority of my stuff is anime, and openings and endings I have organized as season 00.
The weird thing is it is actually eventually will play what you selected to play, its just at the very end of the queue if you look at the play queue, my fix is to use 1.21 until it is fixed and it seems plex staff is aware of this issue too so we are not crazy.
Also, if you get on an app like the plex android app and try to play that season 00 it will play fine, at least for me it does but on web and windows app it won’t
@Boontato - interesting. I tried your suggestion for Android and sure enough, it seems to play correctly. However on my iOS device (ipad) I still see the problem.
Specials completely broke sometime recently, been running a serve for years with no issue but recent update broke the vast majority of specials especially if they had the same release date and now they skip forward to the next numbered season instead of playing the special.
Does not appear so. Still working 100% fine for me if I use the android client on my tablet, but any attempt at using it via the web client is still randomly messing up the specials.
Fix this! It’s like you’re not even aware of it! It broke about 4 updates ago. downgrade to Version 1.21.4.4079 for anyone who this is still broke for, it works on that version.
