Hi.

I have a HD Homerun Connect and purchased a HD Homerun Extend to use the h.264 encoding to reduce the CPU utilization on my server for transcoding.

I edited the database to make the extend have a lower ID than the Connect. (I basically just swapped their IDs.)

Now the extend shows first in the list on the DVR page.

When I record shows, the first and third recordings go to the connect and the second and fourth recordings go to the extend.

I’d really like to be able to set the order I want Plex to choose tuners based on the global priority I set and possibly have the option to override that at the show level (if the override tuner isn’t available, but another one is, it should go back to the global priority settings.) I would see this operating similar to commercial skip. The default for each recording would be to use the global DVR priority settings, but it could be overridden on each recording setup.

What would it take to make this happen?

I agree.

Something for me would to be able to take the best reception available first from each tuner.
