Hi, i’m having a problem with the original Doctor Who on Plex, since each episode has parts Plex just merges them together and TVDB only has the first part. I know there is a Split Apart option for TV Shows but it doesn’t appear for me, and yes i’m on the show page and not the episode page

You cannot split episodes. Only complete tv shows.
That is not true. TheTVDB actually has each “part” as a separate episode.
(If you are referring to to the first-ever episodes in season 01)
Not sure how you are naming your files but I would just not use part 1 part 2 at the end. Even using Roman numerals Part I Part II will prevent other wise same named files from merging.
I only have some seasons of this, but this is how I have mine named:
Doctor Who (1963)/Season 09/Doctor Who (1963) - s09e01 - Day of the Daleks (1).mkv
Doctor Who (1963)/Season 09/Doctor Who (1963) - s09e02 - Day of the Daleks (2).mkv

Thanks for all the replies, i’ve found the problem with how the episodes are named but i’m having a hard time using filebot to match the names correctly

I cant abide Filebot so hopefully someone else may be able to help.
Personally I let Sonarr do all my TV Show naming. It’s not designed as purely a method to rename files but it does it anyway.
I don’t use filebot either, but looking at the original naming, It could be bit of struggle to fix those automatically.
And a quick google search does suggest that filebot struggles a bit with Doctor Who.
I am not even sure if sonarr could rename those…
But maybe someone else has an idea

The tvdb that Plex uses is very strict.
There is no way it will understand several identical episode numbers all with different episode names.
Just wish i could use filebot more manually, just moving the right names to the right places
Decided to just make another library for it and just organize like the folders are, no matching but i can’t get even that to work
Tell Filebot that you are using Plex, and not Kodi: Plex naming schemes for FileBot
Only do one season at once.
