The Larry Sanders Show Season 02 is show 2 parts of the breakdown (even on tvdb site (as 30mins ) which i only have ‘the breakdown’ episode and its 42 mins which is messing up the file naming order what can i do??

If you mean your episode 2 file is what they have for episode 3 then skip episode 2 so you have 1,3,4,5 etc. I have a show like that and just edited episode title to say it was 1+2 so I don’t think I am missing an episode in the future.
im using filebot and it sees it on tvdb as this
Name that seasons episodes manually. Your only other option is if they were mp4s with all the metadata embedded in the file.
If I am understanding correctly you have 17 episode files. Name them 1-18 skipping episode 2
For Mad Med season 5 my files go S05E01 ,S05E03, S05E04, …
Then I just edited the title of episode 1 to remind me it is both 1 and 2
it still shows it on plex as 17 epiosdes even know there 18
If you only have 17 files. Why have it show a file that doesn’t exist.
You can name the file S02E01-E02 but I personally think it is too odd
ok what about when there is this ‘Star Trek Voyager - s01e01 Caretaker Parts 1 & 2’ as one file and filebot and tvdb shows it as two seperate episodes
It sounds like you just don’t like the idea of an “Episode 2” not being there. It isn’t required Plex will happily skip over it and play episode 3 if you are watching things back to back. If you really want 1 file to represent 2 episodes then you name it like s01e01-e02 like I mentioned above. it will show two episode as it they were different files but they are not and IMO causes more weirdness than it is worth.

if you have two files that you want to represent as one episode then you name them like below. But IMO you are better off using a program like mkvtoolnix to combine them into one file.

they are parts 1 and 2 in one file, do i just name them ’ s01e01+2’ ?
plex still show it as a episode missing even if i do that ‘s01e01-2’ naming
You have to do a scan again. also it is s01e01-e02, not s01e01-02
when i do that filebot renames it as ‘1x01 & 1x02’ in the one file
stop using filebot and just name the files manually. file bot will never understand what you are doing
i have alot of files i need to use filebot
you have a lot of files that are multiple episodes in 1 file? I’m taking about just for those exceptions where you need to do that, just manually do it.
