I use a HDHomerun and set to record a 2 hr movie that had a news report in the middle of the film, both the first and second part was marked to record in the channel list but only the first 1hr part actually recorded, but it showed the complete film was recorded. Any clue why! Has happened twice now with different films, both with a 5 minute film/news report in the middle of the movie.
I second this, seeing exactly the same thing with films split over two time periods
Likewise - very frustrating as when I look at the Guide prior to recording both segments show as set to record but only one is ever actually recorded!
Yes it seems as though DVR guide is splitting the film into two segments needlessly. As you can see here the film is split. Having checked the film duration with other freestanding recorders (Humax for instance) it is only one period, so the Plex guide is definitely doing the splitting. It needs fixing?
I’ve not seen it like that tbh - my instance was where there was a programmed news break, only 5-10 minutes but listed in the EPG, and the film then resumes. Both segments had a “record” marker, but only the first gets actually saved.

This has already been reported to our EPG provider to see if we can get the old behaviour and to split the movie
