Split (Un-merged) Movies Treated as Same Movie for Play Status

Server Version#: Synology DSM7 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: hosted 4.63.0\app.plex 4.65.1\Roku 6.9.4\6.9.5

I have two versions of Star Wars A New Hope that I split (un-merged) into individual listings. One is a standard theatrical cut and the other is Star Wars 4k77. When I first added 4k77 it merged with the theatrical so I split it and gave 4k77 it’s own summary, title and poster (expected behavior really). When I play 4k77 though, the server treats it as a merged title in regards to playback status and shows both versions as being played:

When I mark either one as played they both get marked as played as well.

The same thing happens with my NeverEnding Story versions that were split quite some time ago.

I don’t recall this happening in the past when I’ve watched movies I split out but it’s been quite some time since I had so don’t have a timeframe reference. Any help would be appreciated.

Ah. That worked! Thanks!

This would also explain some of the re-merging hiccups I’ve had occasionally.

Much appreciated!

Edit: Just a note for others… metadata did stay and movies in collections stayed in collections. I had one poster reset to a screen gab but the poster was still in the options to easily pick it again (unmatched movies probably work better with local assets overall anyways).

I’m not sure if you got a suggestion to try something that might have gotten deleted. When I try to load the solution, nothing happens. I have the same problem with two different movies (probably more if I search through). It’s a Wonderful Life (B&W) and It’s a Wonderful Life (Color). They were merged together initially, which I then split apart. When one gets marked as played, the other gets marked as played as well.

You have to also unmatch one. That was the step I was missing before. So whichever one is the odd one… split, then unmatch. You’ll then set whatever details you want manually (it’ll keep what it had already).

Edit: Noticed original solution was from a user who left forums and their posts removed. Marking this as solution since it summarizes their answer for folks who come across this in the future.

Sure enough. Got it! Thanks Much!

Just noticed that the person who had supplied the solution is no longer on the forums and their posts were removed… that definitely causes confusion.
