I have several documentaries all by the same person in a folder named after them, with each individual documentary series having its own separate folder nested within named after the specific series and with proper naming structure for the show (EX: show1S01E01 under show1 folder, show2S01E01 under show2 folder, etc.) . All of the series are getting lumped into the same show, and there is no option to split the series like (sometimes? I can’t find any definite cause for it to appear on TV Shows) appears when this happens. Can we have the split option expanded to cover situations like this? Just doing a brief browse of the forum, there are many many other people who have the same issue with this and want the split feature to be more useful on our end. Please let me now if this is something that can be implemented, as I don’t want to destroy my entire file structure for a relatively simple issue. Thanks!
You can’t have additional folder levels in a tv show library.
You need to fix your folder structure and remove the additonal folder level.

So there’s no possible way to organize all TV Shows by a same person into 1 folder, they need to be split apart for plex to be able to recognize them?
I’ve attempted putting the files properly named into 1 folder named after the documentary host, each named after their individual show, but they will still end up lumped together into the same show. Is there a way I can do this without having to have a separate folder for every documentary? I’d much prefer to keep them organized under 1 folder to make file movement easier
They need to be stored beside all other tv shows.
You can later, inside of Plex define Collections to group several shows under a common heading.

Is plex able to see symbolically linked files? I want to store all the files on 1 folder in my hard drive for easier file movement, which collections doesn’t help me with. If it can see symbolically linked files, I would then be able to keep them all in 1 folder outside my main plex folder and symbolically link them into appropriate folders for plex to see. Thanks for your help!
Some people are using indeed hardlinks/symbolic links. You can try that, if you are comfortable creating and maintaining them.
That should solve my issue then to keep what I want my logical file structure as while not having Plex get confused about my files. Thanks for your assistance!
