Anyone know if there's a good agent for sports? If not is there information on how I could go about creating my own agent?
this might help:

and if you do it yourself maybe try to borrow from the XBMC SportsDevil plugin so you don't have to totally re-invent the wheel
I think the issue may be that there isn't a TVDB equivalent for sports.
I suppose I could create one but I'm really not sure what the demand would be since there isn't even a Sports naming convention for Plex.
Personally, I have tons of MotoGP videos I'd love to have neatly arranged and available from my media server but Plex is making a mess of it.

I'm trying to get my MotoGP files to not look like absolute junk too. Between all the artwork and Plex going all over the place with organization, it's pretty frustrating.
Even though I do not have MotorGP files, I do record all BBC1 coverage of Formula 1.
Here's what my recorded TV looks like ( btw, all processes are automated )
What does your file structure look like? I'm getting really frustrated with mine right now and don't know what I'm doing wrong. Here is what mine looks like.
Since Plex devs set out to make it nigh impossible to add recorded content to Plex :-) ( just kidding ), i had to adapt this workflow to bring in MCE7 recordings ( among them Formula 1 races )
-----------------------------------------------
1, Record using MCE7
2, Export using MCEBuddy ( MCEBuddy will embed EPG metadata to resulting mp4, custom rename and sort file all at one go ). I'm using \%ShowName%\%RecordYear%\%ShowName% - MonthDayHourMinute.ext rename template.
3, Since TheTVDB metadata agent can ONLY be primary agent, I chose Personal Media agent for my section. This way I get Episode title, Summary and Genre (from EPG) embedded into the resulting mp4 files. To gather theTVDB files (artwork, banners etc, use FileBot)
4, I chose this great scanner. Most awesome scanner which should be among the default scanners, if you ask me (for my purposes Documentaries scanner fits the bill best ).

5, End result is that based on recorded date, each video file in the Season folder gets +1 Episode. So for example if I scan files in Plex from 1st of July , 3rd of July and 2nd of July ( in that order ) they will properly get sorted based on recorded date. (so 2nd of July will get Episode number 2 and 3rd of July show will get Episode number 3.
Obviously my recorded TV has to be in separate section from 'other' TV episodes which are using S**E** naming convention to match theTVDB database.
A sports Agent IMO is greatly needed. As I am a shift worker i don't always get home to watch my games so I record every game for my favorite NFL and NBA teams; However plex doesn't seem to see my sports recordings. If a dev could make this happen, it would be totally awesome!
I just set my sports libraries up like this:
EDIT: I just added a walk-through of how to do this here: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/131308-cayars-setup-walk-through-and-some-tips-and-tricks/
aaand I don't have permission to view that forum
Same. I'd love to know how he set up his NFL section.

Were you able to figure this out?
I was able to configure mine to get it working by doing this. Caveat, was that I tend to only follow 1 team, so I am not sure if this would work if I put more games in for other teams, thus being multiple "episode 10's" so to speak
Folder and Filenaming:
\NFL\Season 2014\s2014e10.nfl.2014.11.09.49ers @ Saints.mp4
it had to go in that order in order for me to get Plex to recognize and organize it correctly. So it had to be se.nfl..
I tried with different filenames, but then plex wouldn't sort it right.
Also, you will have to manually enter in the Game Information for every game though.
I found this information here: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/124799-nfl-games
It still has weird issues (not sure if Plex itself or being the way it is put in the library). Sometimes, it loses episode info, the posters don't always show up in PMS without navigating into each season. But it's better than nothing
