I think its time that Plex adds sports metadata agents to Plex, potentially in its own library option. The movie library option works for MMA events (I have some recordings of UFC events), and Wrestling Events (Also recordings). They work well for those types. However, I have boxing recordings, some MLB games, and a few NFL recordings to. Plex is unable to see them at all with Movie or TV show library options. I am a big sports fan and my brother, who shares my server, is too. It’s frustrating that I can’t add those sports recordings to it without using Other Videos option, which fetches no metadata info at all.
There’s already an existing suggestion, asking for an agent using metadata from TheSportsDb.com – I’m not sure if this will fully cover your suggestion… if so I suggest you comment/vote in that thread and we close this one as a duplicate (to avoid distracting votes).
