SSL Rate limit

Hi, I’ve been ignoring my lack of secured access to one of my servers for a while and finally got around to figuring out why its not working. I had an issue of running out of space a long while ago and it seems I got the SSL refresh blocked and was hoping to get that reset, thanks!

I look at your account and see it being limited every day with each certificate request / PMS restart

This looks very much like the ownership of the files under “Plex Media Server” have had their ownership changed somehow and now not able to write the new certificate.

I can reset your certificate for you and clean this up but first we must resolve why it’s happening and then fix it before moving forward.

Is Plex running with a customized configuration?
If so, does that UID/GID have full ownership of the “PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR” directories and all below it ?
sudo chown -R command to fix things

Thanks for the reply - you’re right, had it owned by root instead of the plex user; apologies for that oversight, I moved the config from another device a while back and obviously I messed it up, should be all set now.

You’ve done the full sudo chown -R plex:plex /var/lib/plexmediaserver ?

Correct

“Ranch” server ?

Thats the one!

Please restart the server,

Your cert has been reset

Great thank you so much!

You have a new cert.

Now to keep an eye on it and the other clients update (restart) so they get the new cert as well.
