A month ago I switched my ISP to Starlink. The Starlink router doesn’t have a configuration menu, so I pluged the cable from the Starlink dish into my TP-Link Ax6000 which allows me to forward ports and everything works fine. My PMS is installed on a WD PR-2100 My Cloud. with my previous ISP I paid for a dedicated IP address which allowed my family to access Plex remotely via Android app and Firesticks. Accessing PMS via apps requires that I enter an IP address. I’m able to tunnel into PMS using a subdomain from NGROK which works fine using a browser because you are using a URL. When you access Plex using the Plex relay it works sometimes but the speed is limited. Can plex allow URL entry under manual connections in the apps instead of only IP numbers? Currently you can’t get a Static IP or IPV6, my UPNP is turned on but I might be in a double NAT situation. I hope Plex can find a workaround for my issues.
Yes they are network setting issues. Under “Custom server access URLs” in network settings I can enter a subdomain but I can’t do it in the app, the app only allows for IP addresses. I’m trying to get my apps to connect directly and remotely to the server.
If you can enter it there, it is stored in your plex.tv account.
There is not need to put this URL into your apps (each one separately), because they are also logged into plex.tv and fetch the URL from there. Fully-automatically.
The connection between clients and server is always direct, unless your server cannot be reached from the internet directly.
