AFAIK, Starlink does not support port forwardings.
It places all its customers behind a Carrier-Grade NAT. Which means that a Starlink customer’s home network cannot be reached from the outside.
This means, unfortunately that you cannot use remote access to your Plex server without more elaborate (and sometimes expensive) workarounds.
I also seem to remember that the Terms of Starlink kinda prohibit a use for Video streaming, but maybe that is outdated information.
Thanks Otto. Did not know that about starlink. I had a look at a solution using ngrok but I don’t want to pay the monthly cost for that service. Seems there may be another way of doing this with IPv6. Will that work with plex?
At this current time only certain Plex clients are fully IPv6 compatible. Notably the iOS client is. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that your home router is drirectly accessible with IPv6 on Starlink. I wouldn’t be suprised if the company has prevented this as well.
Anyway, unfortunately I don’t have personal experience with this use case, so all I cann advise is to research the topic further. I’m almost certain that this has already been discussed on this forum, so you should be able to find some pointers using the search of this forum.
