And now, we have the option play from the starts but when when use it, it’s starting live and we can’t go back

Do you suggest using beta version? Are they stable?

I just tried using the DVR again after an unsuccessful stint when it first came out. I just went to tray watching Smackdown with my son. It did this same thing. First we were watching live, then paused for a while while he took his bath. Came back to unpause and it played for a minute then glitched out. Figured whatever, i’ll just back out and scroll forward to get to where we were. When I started again it went to segment further in the show and wouldn’t let us rewind. So we just started there, went for about 5 minutes then blacked out. We had to back out and start again. This time it started further in, and played the rest of the way out. All in all, very glitchy. Tired a couple clients other than the Apple TV and had the exact same issues.
This is after I had a few other issues. Raw failed to record. It just dropped off the list of recordings yesterday. It still shows next weeks though. This morning Smackdown dropped off and showed next week for some reason. I had to manually set it to record tonight’s. I’m guessing next week on Monday Raw will drop off again. All in all, its a pretty rough experience.

I truly enjoyed the live recording feature (my favorite feature) but since the upgrade it is broken badly. I tried the beta but no joy. We enjoy a cup of coffee with the morning news and would always “start watching from the beginning” as we are never up at 7. Alas that is gone now. Plex show no errors on screen, displays that it’s starting from 7am but it starts “live” and when you attempt to scan back to the beginning it just restarts at the exact time I started.
I rebooted my Plex server last night and this morning the feature worked. After I installed the beta ( 1.15.4.919), days ago, I rebooted as well. So still scratching head as to what the culprit was.
This is a showstopper issue for me. Worked fine until a couple weeks ago (roughly). Switched to beta channel with no luck. Hope this gets fixed before football season.
Dagnabit! It failed this morning. Maybe I dreamed it worked for a day but it’s broke now.
Watch from start has not worked for me as well, for all the time I’ve installed the DVR functionality (several months). It just goes to live, shows a play bar that seems in the right proportion, but when I pull that play bar back to the beginning it just does a refresh and then goes to live once the show starts again.

We are having a similar problem. We are on the latest Roku App and PMS 1.15.3.876. For example, we are recording The Voice which on Monday is a two hour show. We get back from our walking group and tune in during the second hour of the show. We get the message about starting live or play from the beginning and we choose play from the beginning. It instead starts at the beginning of the second hour. We then try to rewind to the beginning. The time bar at the bottom of the screen looks like it is rewinding to the beginning but when we hit play it goes back and starts playing from the start of the second hour. If we wait for the recording to finish and watch it then we are able to fast forward and rewind as normal. This seemed to start happening when I upgraded to the 1.15.3.876 version of the PMS though I can’t be sure.
Same problem with Plex player on Shield TV. Any long show, like a basketball game, or a movie, starts in the middle of the recording instead of the start when I choose “Play from the beginning”. As a result, I must wait until the show/movie/game is over before I can watch.
I just have the same behaviour. For shows from more than 1 hour, I cannot start to watch from the beginning. I get live. However,i could start one but it was less 1h recorded. After that, it doesn’t allow me to start from the beginning. I’m using 1.15.5.994
I am new with plex. Then, not sure if it is enough to write here to open case?
This is the one issue keeping my wife from wanting to use Plex as our DVR. I also recommended Plex to my parents but I think this is a deal breaker for them as well. Hope this gets fixed sooner than later.
Yes, this needs to be fixed ASAP. I remember back in like 1999 using POWERDVR and it had the ability to do this…
I am having this issue as well. I’m running Plex on a Mac Mini ( Version 1.15.5.994) with Roku 3 and 4 as the clients. I’ve tested on Chome and Android with same issue. For me it appeared to have started when I saw there was an upgrade available on the HDHomerun Quatro. I updated the appliance and now this issue. I’ve not been able to find a way to downgrade the tuner.
