Hey all.
Running Plex on my Xbox One using the latest PMS. I have noticed over the last few days that when playing back a 49 min TV Show, it starts at approx 30mins.
This seems to only happen with XB1.
I haven’t manage to test on Movies or a different show yet.
Anyone else having a similar issue? I have rebooted the XB1 a few times but it mainly stays in standby. Also it seems to happen even through I’ve just played back another video previously.
Thanks all
Yeah seen this a few times, including one amusing incident where my wife didn't realise and watched the last 15 minutes of an episode wondering why it made no sense...
I've never seen this in the tv shows, but it's been reported it previously with movies. I'm hoping the plex staff seen it, but there was never any comment on it last time.
Edit - was going to link to it, but can't find it, must have had a crappy title. Hopefully this gets more exposure, I've had this issue off and on with movies since the beginning. Not a huge deal though as if I stop it and hit play and start from beginning it "usually works fine"......(sometimes you have to do it 3 or 4 times).
Same here. It only happened on TV shows though.
I get this quite frequently =/
Same, happens quite often where it'll start mid way.
Unfortunate because on a few occasions is ruined a few show story arcs because the video started playing right at the climax part.
I’ve also noticed this a few times as well. Seems limited to h264 mkv files, all of which in my case were 720p. Audio was generally aac or ac3, but there may have been a dts once or twice… I can’t recall.
Either way, its pretty rare, but has happened a few times on the Xbox one plex app.
Fortunately, most of the shows it happened on were predictable enough anyway that it didn’t exactly spoil anything anyway though
Also happened to me a few times.
I got this on a movie earlier could do with a restart button or the double arrows to go to the beginning or end if possible.
Loving it though :)
I have to say, since starting this thread I haven’t had the issue again.
However I’ve not been using Plex as much as I normally do during the week… I wonder if there’s being a silent update?
I've stopped using Plex entirely because this happens all of the time. I haven't seen an instance where Plex has worked on Xbox One at all.
Me and my wife were wondering why the movie we sat down to watch didn't have any opening credits.
10 mins later and the closing credits come on screen, realized we just watched the end of the movie :D Totally spoilered.
Leaning towards just buying a new HTPC and using XBMC/Kodi exclusively, it's never failed me the way Plex has repeatedly.

I just did this... The bought a new HTPC part anyway - not installed Kodi yet, but I keep wavering.
Probably still run PMS for the server facility on other TVs/phones etc, but for actual watching experience on our main TV PHT is not a patch on XBMC and shows no signs of trying to catch up.
Xbox app was promising (one device for everything is appealing) but it just doesn't work at the moment...
Just popping in to say that I’m having this problem too. The past 2 times I have watched Fargo and it started 5 minutes from the end. It ruined the climax of both episodes. If I use the back button then enter the episode again, it then starts at the beginning.

I have seem this problem too. When it happens it always starts one hour and 36 minutes into the movie.
Im having this problem but have only had it with movies, it has happened several times, I dont know if its the server or the xbox one app. The time slider will appear to be at the very beginning but it actually plays video from approximately 10-15 minutes away from the end of the file. I first noticed the problem about a month ago or so. I basically have to rewind the file and it will go all the way back to the beginning so I can start watching from there.
yeah .. happens more often these days .. don't know why.. but only with movies.. never with shows .. weird
the only way solution i found was to mark the movie as watched and then .. playing it ... :-) well no a solution but at least it doesn't spoil the ending :)
Any update on this? Watching a TV show jumps to 30:00 on start, this happens about 50% of the time. Happy to provide logs etc if it'll help.
Have had this happen a couple of times with TV shows. Dont get it very often though.
I've actually been noticing this more and more often, it's really starting to get a bit irritating. Hopefully they have a fix in the pipeline.
