I was thinking it would be cool if I could pin a custom watchlist of my favorite 100 movies. Then I could update it as my tastes, new movies come out etc.
This isn’t possible currently in Plex. After you watch a movie on a watchlist, it disappears from the list. Can we get a watchlist that doesn’t do this? A “static” watchlist, or a pinnable custom category. Thanks!
Have you considered using a smart collection for this purpose? They can be pinned as a hub on your home screen. You could use labels, or user star ratings (and probably other things) to build your list of favorites. You could even create multiple “favorite” lists for different genres, for example. You can also limit smart collections to a specific count and randomize the order if you like, so that you can have different favorites show up over time.
as stated in the previous replies – this is already pretty much covered
(a) you can have a (smart) collection and publish it to the home page or a library’s recommended tab – this is already possible using a variety of criteria such as ratings, custom labels…
(b) there’s an existing suggestion discussing an option to keep watched items visible in the watchlist
In addition…
(c) there’s also an existing suggestion discussing the option to have a “favorite list”
I suggest you test the option pointed out by pshanew (=a) or comment/vote in those existing suggestions (=b/c). The latter will help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes if different suggestions cover the same scope.
Unless we’ve missed some unique aspect of your suggestion, I suggest we close this thread in favor of the two existing suggestion threads.
