Dear Plex,

I am very fond with all the new changes with live TV and especially the news, however, easy on the adverts - one 20 second news - one advert and so on… And they are all the same.

I appreciate you need to finance with marketing and adverts, it is a necessary evil.

However, I do think they are on repeat far too much and I now stop watching it as it is very frustrating to have the same ads over and over and over again…

If the ads were every 10 mins or more ok - but one in, one out is a little too much and would appreciate for this to be looked at for a much better experience to get the headlines as it is meant to be.

Yep, this was enough to make me switch that whole thing off. Now they get no money at all (rather than slightly less money).

Plex need to remember that they are competing against other advert and paid-for services. Right now, I actually prefer paid-for over this torture.

Perhaps some people don’t mind it though?

You get that this is kind of a silly complaint, right? I still get repetitive ads on Hulu, and they’ve been around for over a decade.

Have people entirely forgotten how to mentally tune out ads like we did before streaming?

No, I don’t get it is a silly complaint.
I have plenty of ads on all my other channels, and they are just fine.

…Mind you, I wasn’t actually complaining. I just switched the whole thing off and forgot about it.

Sorry, you feel this is a silly complaint - I do not think it is when they are pushed on you every 20 seconds or less!!
Seems like ad overkill to me!

If you are getting ads at the start of every short news story, that would be a problem. Please provide details and even logs so we can look into it.

When I look at the news - I normally play the first and let it roll to listen to the headlines. However, it gets a little annoying as mentioned above, the ads just keep coming on one after the other. Sometimes I get lucky and watch 3 headlines before another ad, but many times it is very often and overkills.

I will watch them now and try to find a log somewhere… not sure where to look for that.

sent you a log privately - but already in just 20 minutes looking at my 6th advert - its a little better than normal today though. - so today in one every 3 minutes ish

UPDATE -
It seems they have identified the frequency of Ads in News are high in my logs and they are looking into it at the moment…

Will try and feedback more when I know here to those who may be interested.
