In the home page of my server (the page which comes after selecting my server from the side bar),
it shows the same movies twice in the recently added and continue watching section. this is because i have a main movie library, and then separate libraries for some categories.
in my files i have a movie folder, inside which i have all my movies, but for those categories i have more folders in the movie folder, labelled with the category names. this way i can point the category libraries to each of their folders, and the movie library to the movie folder.
So all movies, including the movies from the categories show when i go to the movie library, and the category libraries only show their movies.

the unique aspect is that in the post you mentioned there are actually two copies of the movie, but for me its one copy, in one location, but multiple libraries are able to access that file.
Same point… it’s about the same movie/episode being listed multiple times — be that because there’s several files listed as the different items of the same movie in a single library or different libraries listing the same item based on the same file.
The suggestion is aiming at de-duplicating items in the Continue Watching hub (either by using a „hard reference pointing to the exact source library/item or possibly offering a source selection similar to what you get when searching the item that has instances in different libraries).
You might be coming at this from different angles but in the end you’re aiming for the same behavior / experience.
