In-app notification dots have infected every application. Please resist the urge to spam users with notifications, especially about upselling. Don’t punish your own audience.

?? Absolutely no idea what you’re talking about and I use the Android and Android TV apps daily…Nor am I being “spammed” with notification dots.

They’re complaining about the iOS notification for pro week, which includes an upsell with the coupon on annual memberships (which doesn’t apply to lifetime memberships). I agree, that’s very annoying.
Or maybe they’re complaining about the mandatory announcement dot in the client to remind people about Plex Pro Week, which is… also annoying!
I guess I’ll consider myself lucky to have the lifetime pass, so I’ve never seen the first notification you mentioned.
As for Pro Week I don’t recall seeing a notification, but I did get an email about it. I’d still hardly call any of this “spamming”.

Yeah, this week’s Plex Pro Week announcement notification in the web app was the first announcement notification I’ve seen since… exactly this week last year for Plex Pro Week ‘24.
Yeah it’s patronizing to overload even paying customers with yet more ads in this dystopian travesty.
