Stop-Start Playback Problems

Hey all,

Before I begin, my setup:

Plex Server:  NAS Synology Intel Based running version 0.9.11.1

Plex Clients: Raspberry Pi (rasplex), x2 Windows 8.1 laptops, x2 Windows Phones and an Xbox One.

So I am getting really bad playback when using my XboxOne. Videos play for roughly 5 to 6 seconds and then pause briefly and then resume, this continues throughout the video.

Now the strange thing is that the Xbox is the only client this happens to, if I play exactly the same video on any other device it plays fine. I have tried to lower the video quality and I am running both the Raspberry Pi and the Xbox over Ethernet and I am getting good network response times from the Xbox so I am quite sure the network on my side is working fine. Also considering that the the raspberry pi playback is fine I'm quite sure the problem isn't on the server side.

Anyone experiencing anything similar or have any thoughts on this?

The reason is because the xbox one requires transcoding and your NAS most likely cannot keep up with what it needs.

I thought there was supposed to be some update which resolved the need to transcode back at the end of OCT last year.  i know the xbone supports mkv now and in my case all of the codecs used by the files, yet for some reason it is still transcoding.

That is on the native media player via DLNA, the built in miscroft plex app has to adhere by other limits issued by microsoft.
