Stopped working, can't get it to reinstall

Everything was going good until 12 hours ago, when I was no longer able to watch anything on Plex.

In a nutshell, nothing seemed to work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no joy. I then pressed the Nuke button, I followed the instructions on multiple posts referring to uninstalling, removing the registry keys, removing the AppData folder, so in effect totally uninstalled the program, and rebooted.

I reinstalled, and I still can’t watch Plex. Three main errors are:

  • Something went wrong. Please install manually.
  • This server is unclaimed and not secure
  • Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to get Plex to work again? I’m prepared to repeat the uninstall and reinstall phase if there are further suggestions I need to take at the same time so I don’t get the same repeat issues, but just running the installation program to do a Repair and an Uninstall (then reinstalling) have been fruitless.

Ok, just installed it on a PC that has never had plex (ever) and I’m getting the exact same errors, so I presume something is wrong with the latest download on https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/

Windows 7 SP1 or newer

Is there an earlier version I can download?

Ok, this is absolutely rediculous now. I’ve now “signed out” completely, redone the process, created a new account… and it has all my old account details, and still got all the same problems. Not only that, it says “Log in” top right, but has all the details of the account on the main page. Like, if I sign out, surely nobody else should see my account details?

Argh!!!
