So… hidden program called Stopping Plex… can somebody tell me what that is?
Are you running PMS as a service? I believe that is part of that package.
Well, at the risk of sounding snooty, I kinda figured it didn’t just creep in wearing a disguise… I know it’s part of the package, and to answer your question, yes. What I’d like to know is what it does and why it’s all cloak and dagger about it. See… in my mind, if it were something I’m supposed to just be fine with and accept as part of the deal, it wouldn’t need to be hidden. But that’s me.
I don’t use that app but from my understanding, when running PMS as a service, you won’t get the taskbar icon. The service package includes it’s own taskbar icon to reproduce those functions, one of which is to stop PMS. That would be my guess as to what that is for. Otherwise you’d have to kill the process manually, which is not a safe way of stopping PMS.
