Stopping, stuttering 4k video using Roku Ultra

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: 9.0.0 build 4142-29

The issue is with Plex server pausing with large 4k videos, 40gb plus in size.

Plex runs on my PC, is set to hardware encoding (and it’s working)… the CPU isn’t maxed out. It used to be maxed before I installed the 1070ti and selected HW encoding, yet still pauses.

PC: Windows 10 with all updates

CPU: a 2500k (3.3mhz)
Memory: 16 mb
SSDs: 256 & 4TB
Graphics: nVidia 1070 Ti (all updates)

Router: Netgear R7000 (overclocked to 1400); Kong DD-WRT

TV: LG C7 OLED

Surround Sound Processor: Marantz AV8805

Everything is hard wired using quality ethernet cables.

I’d like to attach the Plex XML file but don’t see any way to do that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ROKU > Marantz > TV ? Roku’s can’t pass lossless audio, need to choose dd or dts track.

Are you positive you can’t find a way to play it direct play? avoiding transcoding is always the best quality experience, and the easiest on your Plex server. Windows 10 has a GPU monitoring section, you can check how busy your GPU is in there.

I actually happen to have a LG Oled TV and a Roku Ultra myself, and frankly I only really use the LG webOS app now. (and a marantz nr1606 heh)
I can test with if you can point to a publicly available test file.

Save browser page with XML info as .txt. Forum will not let you attach .xml file. Alternately, save as .xml, zip, then attach.

Thanks guys. I was able to set DD-DTS audio, then force direct play and it seems to be working!
