I’ve been a Plex-user for several years now never had a single problem, also a Plex Pass member because the guys needs their money Really good service!
Now to my concerns, I just got this email:
Account: myusername
Device: Plex
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States (estimated)
IP address: 185.88.101.21
I changed my password, logged out all devices and removed some old devices that had access, never the less, those devices has been reset and most of them are not in use. There was one strange device that just states “Plex” and was created (given access) just minutes before I had the email, not stating what kind of device it was.
I’m from the Nordics, I don’t know anyone in the states so this is really strange. I never invited anybody to my account either so no users should be able to access. Regarding the “Device: Plex” is also strange, what is that? Because it often states like “Plex Web” or something like that but only “Plex”, what is that?
Did you also receive emails recently that the email address of your Plex account was changed?
Do you routinely clean out the cookies and other website data from your web browser(s)? If you do, protect them from now on, so they don’t get erased anymore.
A developer took a look at your account.
The recommendation is to change your password ASAP.
There was some login activity in the USA to your account. If that wasn’t you, then you can consider your account compromised.
Make sure to use a unique password that is not shared with some other website or service you are using.
