Strange problem with Frasier show episode names

I have just added the show Frasier and the filenames are all correct example
Frasier.S01E01.The Good Son.mp4
However, Plex shows them all like
EU_109579.Title1
etc. Why does it do this? Does it read some original tags from within the mp4?

ps. it still shows the correct synopsis etc.

These titles are embedded in your files. You can “thank” your ripper/encoder software for this.

Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

Afterwards, ‘Refresh Metadata’ of the whole show.

Thanks. Got it sorted

On a similar issue, I have a large collection of Looney Tunes episodes named by year as season, like ”S1935E01 - Name of episode”
They are not actually TV shows, but kind of movies. I have another collection ”Looney tunes platinum collection” that I put in movies. But I would like this as a TV show with season years. How can I force it to display the names in the filenames?

Now it shows just ”Episode 1” ”Episode 2” etc

That’s not possible in tv shows.

Looney Tunes is a tv show: Looney Tunes - TheTVDB.com

You mean the ‘big file’ with all the episodes within?

Aha wow. Cool. It just had some trouble finding it, because it thought it was ”New looney tunes” from 2019. I will check again

No, separate but all with just the name of the episode, no number of any kind, that one only worked in Plex when I put it under movies.

Episode names still dont show up, but it’s not a huge deal if they wont. I can’t match the show with Looney Tunes 1929, that doesnt get found by Plex from TVDB. Only some newer Looney Tunes

Whew

I’m doing Looneys right now and they’re tough. The episodes on disc are all over the place. I have to employ Filebot and it still takes a hand edit.

First is the pre-name:

looney tunes - episode name
(maddening is the spelling - as it must be exact)
Filebot will then find the episode.

It’s actually not much faster than playing the first seconds, extrapolating the year from the copyright notice, going to the season after that (mostly) at TVDB, finding the episode and naming the thing

Once done, it’s nice
(we’ll never be done I think):

BTW:
You WILL get ‘The Merry Go Round Broke Down’ song stuck in your head.
Faith No More is the only thing I’ve found to counteract it.

Thanks mate  I filebotted it, first I thought no change, but the next day I noticed it said 1929 and not 2019, and peeked inside to see the whole beautiful collection with names and all!
