Plex only sees 1, then shows the 2 in the upper corner but it is wrong.
how can I get these to inventory in correctly?

Plex does not support sub divisions of episodes.
But since Plex uses TheTVDB as the source for tv show metadata, you must reorganise your filenames anyway.
Take a look at Teen Titans Go! - Season 01 at TheTVB:
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=266775&seasonid=512338&lid=7
As you can see, what you have as s01e05b, is actually s01e09 at TheTVB.
Filebot will help you fix that quickly and bring both folder and filenames into a Plex-conforming state.
After you have corrected your file names and episode numbers perform the Plex Dance with the whole show.
this is awesome. this worked flawlessly on a few other shows I’m recording and mcebuddy isn’t picking up the stuff for!!!
but teen titans go not working… ill have to dig some more… but this app is awesome!!!filebot is now in my work process

You have mp4 files. Those can have embedded ‘Title’ tags which can interfere with Plex’s matching process - if they contain improper information.
Do this:
Go to Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Or fix the embedded ‘Title’ tag in your files, so it contains sensible data.
Afterwards, perform the Plex Dance with misrecognised episodes.
ok so first didn’t work…
how do you edit the embedded title tag? google search isn’t really pulling up any easy way…
and for my future knowledge what is the best format to save in? mcebuddy is doing all my saving as mp4…
thx for the assistance…

Care to explain, what did not work?
how do you edit the embedded title tag? google search isn’t really pulling up any easy way…
just do a right-click in Windows file explorer, the ‘Properties’ - ‘Details’

so the what didn’t work was following the Plex Dance… then moving back in… still same result…
I right click 4 files (5a, 5b, 6a, 6b) and edited the Title on the Properties Details tab to match the file name and still plex is pulling in as all 4 files are just 2 episodes with the little 2 in the upper left… like pic above
Is it possible you are not using TheTVDB for your tv shows but TheMovieDB instead?
Then you must perform the same agent reordering under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
as well.
Post a Plex XML info of this “accumulative” episode please.
The XML tells me that you’re using TheTVDB.
But what have you inserted as format string into FileBot?
S01E05a
and S01E05b
when it should be S01E09
and S01E10
Z:\TV Series\
Teen Titans Go!\
Season 01\
Teen Titans Go - S01E09 - Ghostboy.mp4
Teen Titans Go - S01E10 - La Larva de Amor.mp4
I missed that part… wow… ok ill go through them and rename accordingly… thx for catching that. unfortunately cant do it at this time so I will report back…
I used filebot to hit up a show I had just dates for and it messed it all up. was a show I didn’t care about so I deleted it so I know I have to make sure I have a copy of the stuff offhand just incase… thx…
you are the man! thx… I totally didn’t understand (took a few beverages to slow my ADHD down and I’m good)…
so with the link showing ALL the episodes, renamed them and worked. for first 4 I had to put S01E01 then after the - put S01E02 and do that for the first 4 files… thus 5th one started as S01E09 and all went well… thx so much…

FileBot has a renaming protocol. If it messed up, you can revert everything.
yeah it was old and taking up space so didnt mind deleting them… hah
This might help:

Good luck!

TheTVDB has this quite often. One of the reasons why Plex has an own proxy server for it. Try again in a few hours.
Funny… when TVDB goes down - so does the Plex Proxy.
They must be running off the same goat on a treadmill in Ireland.
hah ok… so its down again… also I didn’t realize that filebot also uses it as well…
