Streaming from a plex app to someone with a lifetime pass but still being asked to pay for the app

I have a lifetime pass, and now dont call me a A hole for not knowing how it worked correctly but i was under the impression that anyone could stream without being asked to pay just to my server.
Did i read that wrong and do they still have to pay to stream off my server with a lifetime pass or can i avoid that add them as like a home user or something.
and please dont treat me like a idiot, im only HALF a idiot.

Anyone can stream from your server, for free, whether you or they have a pass. The mobile apps are different (for some reason). Anyone who uses a mobile app has to pay Plex to use them. Either 5 bucks to unlock the app, or the person USING the app has to have a Plex Pass on their account. YOU having a plex pass does not mean your friend gets to enjoy the Plex Pass features such as intro skip or free mobile app use. Sorry.

If paying 5 to unlock the app is too much, your friend can still use the web client on their phone’s browser to access your media.

Plex users who are members of your Plex Home don’t need to unlock the mobile Plex apps.

But their number is limited to 14. And they will all appear in the “Switch User” screen, where only a 4-digit PIN is preventing them from switching to your account.
Hence why you should only add users to your Plex Home who are members of your family/household.

All other (“Plex Friend”) users need to unlock the apps (or subscribe to a Plex Pass of their own).
This applies only to the “mobile” apps. All other apps (including TV sets and STBs with “Android TV”) are free to use.
