Please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong board.
I made the leap into audio streaming locally. I bought a receiver that is capable of streaming Spotify, Tidal and others as well as Bluetooth and AirPlay.
If using my iPhone I am able to stream Plexamp to the receiver just fine, it’s really great and I suppose I could learn to live with that.
However, when I try and stream from my Mac desktop I can see the receiver listed in the drop down when I install Plexamp and it even puts the check mark next to it however it still plays on the Mac desktop.
Are their special things I need to do? I have PlexPass.
As far as I know the iOS version of Plexamp used to be able to specify a per-app AirPlay output but then something changed inside macOS which removed that ability. You should still be able to use the whole-OS AirPlay option with either desktop or iOS version.
working for me … Plexamp MacOS app (on M1 Mac Mini) … first, select the specific Airplay device for sound output in the Mac system-level Control Center menu … then in the Plexamp app go to Settings > Playback > Audio Output > Audio Device and select Airplay
@tgp-2 Thank you for that, I hadn’t found that. So followed your steps, however, in the Plexamp settings under Audio Output I only have Sample Rate Matching.
Actually, after trying your steps again, except this time using the broadcast button in the upper right corner and making sure that the Integra was selected, POOF, it worked. However, still doesn’t show in the Audio Output selection and if I go into settings it crashes so that’s kind of interesting.
Yep, that’s a good idea because it really is crashing a lot… Though I think I’ll start a different post about that, I’m satisfied that this issue is fixed.
