Streaming lagging for weeks

Hi,

I haven’t been able to watch anything with Plex lately, everything I stream from my laptop to my LG tv or Chrecast is lagging nonstop to the point where I give up and use the old HDMI cable. I’ve just updated the Plex server on my laptop, the tv and Chromecast both say I have the latest version, yet theagging persists.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I should have probably mentioned that I never used to have any problems until a few weeks ago, it had always worked like a charm.

What information is showing in the “now playing” tile for that playback on the Plex server dashboard?

  • local playback vs. remote/relayed connection
  • direct play / stream vs. transcoding
