Streams only in 720p

I have a server that is allowing devices on my home network to get full 1080p and even 4k content without issue. It also has been allowing cellphones to get full resolution content when not on my local network. Now the weird part, any and all TV’s or computers outside my network are only able to get at most 720p… on the same content that I can get at 1080p and 4k on my network and cell phones off my network. Anyone have any idea why its forcing transcodes only on PC and TV devices off my local network? For reference it’s a windows PC with an intel 12700k, an RTX 4060, 48 gigs of ram. So hardware shouldn’t be an issue I don’t think. Any advice is appreciated.

I’ll keep you posted on it but I did disable relay and double checked my port forwarding on the router. Seems like its working for now. What I don’t get is how the port forwarding got changed. I had the static address set on my server and port forwarded all traffic on the 32400 port to the server’s IP address. But when I logged into my router now it wasn’t set to the IP I made it months ago. Wish I knew how it got changed… Either way huge thank you for the assist. I wouldn’t have thought to look there as I set it months ago statically. Appreciate the help!

Very true. I’ll have to take a close look at the settings tomorrow. Thank you again for the help, this was super frustrating lol. I’m still pretty new to networking stuff.

I’m new on the forum but I had a similar issue when I switched to Win 11 from Win 10. All my Plex Client devices, Nvidia Shield, iPad, iPhone etc., were not getting a direct video. I finally put my backup Win 10 Hard Drive back into my HTPC. I was about to pull my hair out. Same issue. I finally stumbled across the fix (in my instance anyway). I unchecked the transcoder item called PLAY SMALLER VIDEOS AT ORIGINAL QUALITY and everything was back to Direct video 1080p & 4K in my client devices.
