Struggling To Get A Direct Connection With A Particular Client

Hi team,

I have a problem that has stumped me. I set up my NAS Synology DS918 with a Plex server, and it is working fine. Local works swimmingly, and remote is also fully set up. I have had my family members across the world join, and on their wif,i they are getting a direct connection. Great! However, my girlfriend (who lives 5 minutes away from me) can only get an indirect connection, which stumps me.

I do know that her ISP is Gigistreem (forced as I know they are trash). Is there a way for her to be able to get a direct connection? I am even able to get a direct connection on normal 4 & 5g. Not to sure what to do in settings (if possible) to get her wifi to connect directly to the server and direct play/stream.

Her wifi or data? coz if wifi you can have her test her PC’s browser to see if it’s giving her an indirect connection too. At least that way, you’ve narrowed it down to being a phone/device problem or an internet/router problem.

Nothing really comes to mind about what it could be since it’s working for others. Unless it’s an ipv4/ipv6 issue. Can you give more details?

Just to be sure, you mean Indirect connection as in the yellow exclamation point in the dashboard, right?

Yeah on ther wifi. She cannot acess it with a direct connection via the browzer or web client.

Im 99% its an internet router thing as ive only heard bad stuff about gigstreem.

Yep, yellow exclamation mark and when hovered over it says indirect connection
