Struggling with SpongeBob Season 2 episode listing order

Hi Folks – I’m struggling with getting the SpongeBob Season 2 to match the TVDB DVD order as listed here: SpongeBob SquarePants - Unknown - Season 2 - TheTVDB.com

I have the show set to use the DVD Order, and I’ve done the plex dance a couple times, but it seems to always match something else. I’ve attached a screenshot of what it looks like below.

I’d like the first episode to be “Your Shoe’s Untied” but it keeps picking “Something Smells”.

I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, just not sure what. Thanks in advance!

Did you refresh the show‘s metadata after setting the episode ordering?
Any chance there’s embedded metadata getting in the way?

Yeah! I just tried it again to double check and it’s still the wrong order :frowning:

Also just double checked the metadata, it seems the only relevant metadata would match it to the correct episode.

The above is just the chapter list. That won’t interfere with matching.

  1. Perform the Plex Dance with that season. Are these mp4 or mkv files?
  2. If there is no change after doing 1), verify that the server’s database is not damaged. Here is a shell script which can make the whole process of checking and repairing comfortable: GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases

Done! They are MKV files.

The DBRepair did it!

Now one last thing – TheTVDB matches the DVD ordering correctly for most of the season, but it has the last two episodes flipped

What’s the best way to get the TVDB DVD ordering fixed to match what’s on the DVDs

There might be different editions of the DVD.
There might be incorrect information in the DVD cover (I wouldn’t be surprised, I’m encountering erroneous information on DVD covers all the time.)
Unless you can present overwhelming evidence to the contrary, TheTVDB will not swap these episodes.
