Stuck in P-State P0 after transcode finished on NVIDIA

Thanks for the info! It seems like we have a fix from the NVIDIA folks.
At least for me it is now returning to P-state P8 as it should (with the 450.36.06 driver on ubuntu 18.04 and HWE kernel 5.3.0-59).

That is awesome to hear. Please keep us posted on how it goes over the next few days

Just came to say the new driver works wonders now. Right back to P8 power state after a finished transcode.

For some of you out there that need to forward specific commands to the driver install, like I need to install the drivers with --no-kernel-module when installing them in my LXC containers.

You can just unpack the cuda driver by adding: --tar mxvf when executing the file. this will give the familiar .run file in directory builds/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-450.36.06.run

@tijmenvn great to hear! A number of Unraid users will be happen when the Unraid Nvidia plugin is updated to use the new driver.

Version: 440.100
Release Date: 2020.6.24
Did not resolve this, for me. Just an fyi.

My ubuntu updated the nvidai drivers to 440.100 and I found that hardware acceleration no longer worked with Plex.

Removed everything cuda and nvidia related and installed 450.51 from the link at https://github.com/keylase/nvidia-patch.

Now have power state returning to normal after transcodes and also patched for more than 2 hardware transcodes at a time.

Nvidia released 450.57 on 7/9. Just installed and confirmed that the drivers are now returning to P8 automatically at the end of the transcode sessions.
