Stumped on Samsung Stupidity

I have had a life time pass for a long time now. I am running 4 roku devices and one Samsung smart TV. Last week my Samsung stopped allowing for my personal plex content to be viewed. The 4 rokus are fine. These are all on via my on LAN with the local IP plugged in. I can also access my plex remotely at work on my laptop and ipad when I travel. The Samsung is the only thing that does not connect for some reason. It allows me to log into my account but says it can not connect to my server.
I have tried removing the ip from it, changing around the required auth settings like many post suggested here. Any ideas? I did move one of my rokus into my room any connect it to the cat5 cable and it worked fine. Wifi on the tv was the same result. I loaded that ip into my plex server as well as manually changed the ip and loaded that one with no luck. this has worked for over a year with no issues.

Have you tried uninstalling Plex from your Samsung tv, installing again and sign in using your Plex account without any manual configuration?

I did Uninstall plex as well as try to do it without the ips plugged in. It’s almost like Samsung is blocking it if that’s possible.

Logout from hour Plex on the tv and then on the server go to Settings > Authorized devices and remove your tv from there. Sign in again.
Any changes?

Hi, exact same issue with me and have raised this before. I have two very new/ latest Samsung smart TVs and neither will let me access the sever even though I’m logged in. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting above (uninstall/ removed authorised devises etc. Etc.) But still it work. If I plug my fire stick in the TV it works fine no issue. Bug with Samsung I guess but can’t believe this is still going on, been over a year for me with no fix!!!

All was fine yesterday watching stuff on my Samsung TV player from my Windows 10 server. Then today I kept getting cannot connect to server from player on Samsung TV.

Got fed up messing around with it so plugged my firestick in. That then tells me Plex needs to be updated, so I updated it on the Firestick.

Then firestick complained that the Plex server needed to be updated on PC so I update that, then I get player to connect to server and it shows me all movies and music and TV shows on homepage but when I go to movies or TV shows or Music I get told that the libraries are empty and I need to set them up from an app, although they are quite clearly on the server.

Then I think lets play file on server and cast to TV as I was getting so fed up and hey ho “There was an unexpected error during playback. Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems” Was working fine 30 minutes earlier before doing update.

Considering Player on TV and player on firestick and the server on PC were all working fine this morning.

Samsung TV now wont connect to server
Update on firestick now thinks libraries are empty but show content on home page
Update on server now just gives playback error on everything

It’s all a bit of a mess

Many people are complaining about not being able to play anything on the web player. I don’t know if samsung has an app or just a emulation of a browser, if yes, that could be the problem.
But obviously those are just my thoughts

Unfortunately that did not work. Plex still cannot see my server but does log in just fine.

Just very confusing because it pulls plexes content but not my own. Thank you for your support all ideas and thoughts are helpful.
