Anyone got a solid emulator to use with N64 roms for Plex Arcade? The two that show up using the Core Manager Tool either show Transcode Error or have stuttering sound.
Also how do you map controls for the on screen soft controls in Arcade? Cant play any games on N64 emulator as no analogue control options, just d pad
It’s not working here. It might be that I need to tweak the settings but seeing as there is no access to any transcode settings etc that’s going to be difficult.
I’m running on Windows 2019 with GTX 1050ti 4GB Windrush OC. cant see it having an issue rendering an N64 video stream.
I’m not sure where the issue is occurring but it seems to be with the emulator.
I’ve tried Edge Chromium and also the native android app on my phone. I should add that I’m running this remotely so havent had a chance to test it on local network as yet. Could it be related to the lack of audio card in the server as it is a Dell PowerEdge R720?
Just so you guys know - N64 is notoriously hard to emulate. And all N64 emulators has this stutter and it is called shader stutter.
The emulators has to compile the shaders on the fly, whilst on the real system they were already included on the cartridge itself.
So the reality is that the stutter will always exist. Some emulators/cores will save the compiled shaders to a folder as a cache when the game is closed, hence the stutter should only happen once. But I don’t know how Plex handles this.
