Stuttering videos with 0.4.0rc1

Hello,

I am using rasplex in in semi wired network, on a 512mb raspberry booting from an USB2.0 key. My plex server is running on my macbook which is connected through wifi. My raspberry is wired via ethernet cables.

On some 720p videos (mostly tv shows), i noticed that the cache wasn't filling itself fast enough so I decided to overclock the raspberry (medium settings). It helped in a way that the cache is now filling itself fast enough but it also cause the video to stutter every 15 secs.

I also tried to transcode to 20mbps which is working fine but messes with the subtitles, so it is not a reliable option for now.

Is there someone that can see a solution to my problem?

Thanks :)

EDIT :

Here are the details about the video I'm trying to read. By the way I use the 2.0 audio out.

Hi,

Am I the only one experiencing this??

Thanks!

Try moving the cache to 30% - also boot from a usb 3.0 and a sd version 10 card and move the partition on the usb with Paragon Partition this will defo help improvement - try overclocking see Dlanors thread as his settings seem pretty spot on plenty of info on 0.4.0 thread about this in fact Dlanor posted a thread not long ago on overclocking, I listened to his advise and boom, can play most 1080 videos without stutter or freeze, try and make sure you bitrate doesnt exceed 21mbps and avoid directplay on 1080 videos.

The USB 2.0 isn't ideal must be a 3.0 version as this will be faster on the memory on the Pi hope this helps
