I’ve been experiencing issues with downloaded subtitles from Open Subtitles. They’re not working consistently across devices. Sometimes they work on my Samsung TV, other times they don’t. However, they do work on the Google TV app. The computer app used to work fine, but since the last update, both downloaded subtitles and some Portuguese subtitles are not displaying at all.
Is anyone else facing similar issues? This is becoming quite frustrating and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Until recently, I had no issues with subtitles in my app. It was my go-to solution when subtitles wouldn’t load on my Samsung TV. However, now I’m unable to download subtitles using the app and Portuguese subtitles stored on the server won’t load. English subtitles are hit or miss. I’m not sure if this is related to the encoding of the subtitles. Could it be because some of them are not in UTF-8 format?
UPDATE: I’ve discovered that sometimes subtitles load when I download the files from the server. This must be due to a recent update of the app because previously, downloading was not necessary for subtitles to appear. Here’s an example.
