I have constant issues with subtitles and my movies. I can find options for Spanish but they never play at the same rate as the movie so the titles are always off, which is frustrating for the Spanish speaker watching the movie with me.

While certainly frustrating, this can happen if you don’t have access to the original subtitles that came with your movie. The subtitles available in various online databases and through Plex on-demand subtitle search can be based on different local cuts/distributions with different durations or other slight variations/deviations.
So… if you own the source disc, try to get the subtitles straight from that.
If you depend on searching subtitles online, try to find the best fitting subtitle (e.g. based on durations) or set the offset (assuming the offset is mostly based on start times being off and not changing over the duration of the movie).
Thank you, Tom. I appreciate the guidance. Most of my movies are downloaded from various sites online so I think getting the original track will be challenging.
