this appears to have been reported multiple times but there’s no solution. the first line of the subtitle appears at the bottom, and the second line is shown as the top.
seems to happen on .mkv files that have their own subtitles baked in (plex shows the subtitle to be in the .ass format). i was unable to find another subtitle from the plex interface (which i know it fixed the issue on another episode i watched)
playing same show on VLC works as expected, yet if i download an external subtitle and use it instead of the baked in subtitle, the same bug appears! and no, it’s not the subtitle, as the .srt file has the proper order:

so it looks like both plex and VLC have the same code regarding subtitle handling at least on this case. amazing find.
