Subtitle not showing correct language when video has embedded subtitle in a different language

Running into a weird issue with the native plex app. I have a video which has embedded subtitles ASS format in non english. I have downloaded english language subtitles and when i select them they still play in non english format.

If i play the same video and subtitle on Apple TV or via Kodi it works fine. Something is not working correctly with the native plex app on android tv.

Other titles that have only english subtitles work fine.

Anyone else see this?
