Rolling out to the Google Play store now is a fix for the internal video player to get Subtitle playback working again. This unfortunately has been broken since 1.2.0 rolled out and I just found it today. Also 1.2.4 contains a fix for trying to play back subtitles that aren't in the correct format. A message will be displayed informing the user and subtitles for that video session will be disabled.
