There have been numerous discussions over the years requesting the same feature: finer subtitle position options for players like Apple TV and Nvidia Shield. Let me explain again: the current “Bottom, Middle, and Top” options are too restrictive, especially the bottom position, as it places subtitles in the black bar area of widescreen videos, making them invisible for those with 2:35:1 (and similar) aspect ratio setups.
Can we please get an official update from Plex regarding the implementation of more precise subtitle positioning?
I’m surprised that all other media players (Jellyfin, Emby, Kodi, Infuse, etc.) offer fine adjustment for subtitle positioning, making them ideal for home theater projection setups. It’s even more frustrating that I have to use another player for my Plex library, even paying for an Infuse subscription just for this functionality. It would be great to understand why Plex hasn’t provided this option. Are there technical limitations?
